Dr Mohammad Rasheed holds a masters degree and doctorate (which he completed with distinction) from two renowned universities in the USA in the field of Education and Administration. During 5 his educational career spanning over four decades he has achieved several distinctions, His Excellency joined King Saud University (formerly Riyadh University) in 1972 as an assistant professor and moved to an associate, then to a professor. During his career at the university he was promoted to vice dean of the College of Education, after which he was elected dean in 1976.

Between 1979 and 1988 he served as the Director General to the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, where he was elected unanimously by the education ministers of the member countries.

His Excellency is the founder of the Arab Gulf University “Bahrain” and is a member of its trustees initially in his official position and then in his personal capacity.

He became the first Saudi visiting professor to California University to be selected for the “Fulbright” program for the distinguished university professors.

His Excellency was deputed to the King Faisal Foundation to establish King Faisal schools, where he set its plans, education regulations, its bylaws and the education methodologies which it adopts and distinguishes it from the other equivalent schools.

His Excellency was appointed a member of “Al Shura” in its first session. Lately he served as the Minister of Education from 1995 through 2005, where he devised and developed many new programs in education, such as the gifted program where he was the first chairman of the executive board for King Abdul-Aziz & Companions for Gifted. Also, he headed the Kingdom’s delegation to several international conferences and also led the Saudi Childhood Care Committee since inception.
